TTM10 Intelligent Transport Systems

Content:
The focus will be on different areas of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) – using ICT for a more sustainable transport sector. One important enabler for ITS is communication between vehicles and the infrastructure, which enables cooperation and information sharing between systems to provide safer, more efficient and more environmental-friendly services for road users. Other areas include positioning and location referencing, applications including human-machine interface considerations, and security issues.

Course Material:
Given at semester start.

Recommended Background:
TTM4100 Communication - Services and Networks, and TTM4105 Access and Transport Networks.

Teaching Method:
A number of colloquia with lectures and discussions, where the students will contribute to and give some of the lectures.

Learning Goal:
Knowledge
The students shall acquire knowledge about the concept of ITS in general, how connected vehicles can communicate to share information, and how ITS can be used to benefit individual road users and the society as a whole.
Skills
The students shall acquire the skills necessary to design and specify requirements of communication solutions for the ITS domain.
