  • Why does not It's Learning give me access to this course?
    • As of Jan. 10th 2011 It's Learning is only showing courses from previous years (up to Fall 2010)
    • If you have problem with access later in the semester:
      • You need to register both for exam, and follow lectures/follow teaching (følge undervisning) (this is done on Studweb, ask a co-student if you have troubles)
  • Does the assigment have a grading?
    • No, you need to have it approved to take your exam, but it does not influence the final grade
    • Doing it properly should however increase your chances of getting a good grade :-D
  • Do I need to take the assignments again, if I only want to improve my grade?
    • If you did the assignment in 2009 0r 2010, everything is OK
    • For previous years you should consult me (very old assigments will not be appoved, as the material has changed too much)
  • Can I be accused of plagiarism on the assignment?
    • YES! This may cause you a lot of 'hazzle' and even some serious problems
      • You may not take this exam, and in the worst case you may be excluded from all University studies for a period of time. Please do not make trouble for yourself (and the other in your group)
    • All programs should work, and the programming shall be made by yourself.
      • As a first test we will ask you to explain the code
      • As a second test we may run SW to check for plagiarism
  • What is “the IMS book” and where can I get it?
    • IMS book is the book The IMS: IP multimedia Concepts and Services publ. by Wiley
    • 2nd ed. by M. Poikselkä, G. Meyer, H.Khartabil and A.Niemi
      • You should be able to find this as e-book via library pages
    • 3rd ed. by Miikka Poikselka, Georg Mayer
      • 3rd ed. will soon be in Tapir bookstore buy it! or buy 2nd ed. used
        • VCC and Emergency calls are not covered in 2nd ed. (copy those pages from a friend if you have 2nd ed. only)
      • 3rd ed. is located under 'internet and under electro in tapir (red book)

    • Note that there are of course also other books covering IMS, several exists as e-books in library
  • What is ATN-Audestad-book?
    • This is the book Jan A. Audestad, “Technologies and Systems for Access and Transport Networks”, Artech House (2008). Available at SiT Tapir.
    • This book is used in ttm4105, and I assume that you all have that book. (ttm4105 as well as ttm4100 is listed as Recommended previous knowledge)
  • Where do I find “the SIP-tutorial”?
    • Via the learning goals, ch.2 on litterature, as well as on It's Learning
    • This refers to the 240 p. by kuthan&sisalem (both at tekelec)
    • A shorter SIP tutorial by seinreich&johnston can be found on It's Learning
      • This shorter tutorial may be useful for your assignment
      • (Johnston has also authored a book on SIP, you need not buy this book)
    • Many other SIP tutorials exists, but I'll focus on these two
