At that time there were research issues such as switching networks, control systems for telephone exchanges, program systems for computer controlled telephone exchanges, computer networks and data communication, computer controlled traffic measurement equipment, traffic analysis and traffic dimensioning.
The Department of Telematics was founded in 1996 after having been a part of The Department of Computer Science and Telematics since 1987. The Department of Telematics has close collaboration with the Center for Quantifiable Quality of Service in Communication Systems (Q2S).
