Welcome to ITEM academic day 2010! Below you find the preliminary programme for the gathering. We hope you find the programme full of exciting issues, leading to fruitful discussions. If you have any comments or suggestions to other topics we should address at the meeting, please contact Finn Arve or Harald.

09:00-09:30: Welcome and introduction (Finn Arve and Harald)

• Welcome and introduction to today´s programme (Finn Arve).
• Brief orientation on students at ITEM (Harald).
• Assigning teachers to courses/themes for the next two study years. A proposal will be distributed before the meeting (Harald).

09:30-12:00: Learning goals (All)

• According to the national “Kvalifikasjonsrammeverket” (KRV) we are to make learning goals for the 5yr CommTech study programme.
• A process was initiated in the beginning of 2010 to define learning goals for: CommTech study program, field of specializations, and profiles.
• A complete draft of learning goals for CommTech will distributed before the meeting and discussed.

12:00-13:00: Lunch in Savannen: Baguettes and coffee/tea

13:00-16:00: Courses (All)

• My course: Each teacher will present the status and strategy for development of his course. Max. 5 min per course.
• Exercises/labs/essays in courses: There is a need to harmonize the use of exercises/labs/essays. A background document providing an overview of all ITEM courses and their use of exercises/labs/essays will be distributed before the meeting.
• If time allows: Profile overload: Some of our profiles have many students relative to the number of teacher within the profile. What can we do to remedy this?
